Flat Wart Treatment
A flat wart is a small growth on our skin. They usually appear on feet or hands but they can
appear anywhere on our body. Their appearance is similar to a blister with a rough edge. Flat warts
color is almost the same as our skin color but with slight color degradation. They are usually
caused by a viral infection. They are contagious and you can get them from others. There are
several different methods that can be used in flat wart treatment.
Salicylic Acid
The most common flat wart treatment involves the use of salicylic acid. The best flat wart
treatment contains salicylic acid that is at least 40% of the ingredients. The most common flat
wart treatment that can be purchased at any pharmacy store is Dr. Scholl’s Wart Remover. You apply
this directly to the flat wart. Over a period of several days or weeks you will see the flat wart
getting smaller and smaller. It will eventually go away. It is possible that in some cases it can
take up to a month for the flat wart to go away.
Silver Nitrate
Silver nitrate is another common ingredient used in flat wart treatment. It is almost as effective
as salicylic acid in the treatment of flat warts. The silver nitrate is applied directly to the
flat wart. Silver nitrate works by burning away the dead skin in and around the flat wart. Don’t
worry because it is not painful. After the skin is burned away the flat wart will fall off.
Both salicylic acid and silver nitrate are effective for flat wart treatment. Some claim that
they are only temporarily effective. Their effectiveness lies in their ability to remove the flat
wart from the skin so you no longer see it. Some of the solutions that contain these two
ingredients fail to address the underlying reason you have warts in the first place. Warts are
spread from a viral infection. If the underlying virus is not addressed then it is possible for the
flat warts to reappear over time.
Another concern with these two ingredients is that they work by burning the skin. This can be
effective in making the flat wart fall off after the underlying skin as been burnt by the two
ingredients. It is possible that these two ingredients can result in scaring on your skin. This
does not happen in all situations but is something you should be aware of.
All Natural Flat Wart Treatment There are all natural treatments available
for flat wart treatment. These all natural treatments contain ingredients that occur naturally in
nature. They are combined to create an effective flat wart treatment.
All natural flat wart treatment does have some controversy. Since they are all natural they are
regulated by the FDA like prescription medicine is. Most people that use an all natural treatment
will swear that they are just as effective in flat wart treatment as is salicylic acid or silver
nitrate. Like any form of treatment, there are distracters that claim an all natural treatment is
not effective in flat wart treatment.
